2025 Graduate and Young Professional Fair Showcases Isle of Man Career Opportunities

02 May 2025

Organised by Locate Isle of Man, part of the Department for Enterprise, the 2025 Graduate and Young Professional Fair delivered a vibrant showcase of opportunity, bringing together 55 local businesses, 250 attendees and 38 panellists, highlighting the breadth of career opportunities available in the Isle of Man.

Now in its fifth year, the event which took place on 16 April 2025, continues to play a key role in Locate Isle of Man’s strategy to attract and retain Graduates & Young Professionals.

Held for the first time at the Villa Marina, 2025 sees a fresh approach to expand the event reach beyond the delegates who attended.

In the coming weeks, video highlights from the event and Speaker Zone panel session recordings will be made available to all registrants, in addition to more than 850 subscribers of Locate’s Graduate and Young Professional e-newsletter, 219 of which signed up as a direct result of the event. Subscribers receive regular updates about upcoming events, news and career opportunities.

A total of nine panel session recordings will provide valuable insight into the Island’s industries, wide ranging career paths and opportunities, available activities, and the quality of life in the Isle of Man.

Ann Corlett MHK, Political Member for Locate Isle of Man, commented:

‘Attracting and retaining young people and helping businesses to fill available roles is fundamental to the long-term sustainability of our economy, a strategic ambition of the Island Plan, and it was encouraging to see so many young people chatting with prospective employers, and immersed in the panel sessions at this event.

‘Notably, 12 attendees travelled from the UK specifically to attend, which highlights genuine interest from these young people in making the Isle of Man their home. Expanding the event’s reach to graduates and young professionals beyond the Isle of Man will play a vital role in promoting the Island as a wonderful place to live, work and thrive.’

As part of Locate’s broader University Attraction and Awareness Programme, which launched in September 2024, this year’s event also aligns with ongoing efforts to build strong relationships with UK Universities and Graduates in the North West of England.

Locate has since attended three University careers fairs and student union events, engaging directly with over 270 students, some of those having existing links to the Island.

Karen Mercer, Head of HR for Zurich in the Isle of Man, headline sponsor for this year’s event, added:

‘We were delighted to support the 2025 Graduate and Young Professional Fair as headline sponsor for the second consecutive year. The event was, as always, a tremendous success, and our colleagues greatly valued the meaningful interactions they had with the attendees.’

Locate Isle of Man has now progressed its post event survey, review and reporting phase, to understand the full impact of the event, with further insights to follow in the coming months.
