Are you #LovingIslandLiving? Work-Life Week 2019 Celebrates the Isle of Man's Work-Life Balance and Quality of Life
30 September 2019
Locate Isle of Man, which is part of the Department for Enterprise, is running a campaign during National Work-Life Week 2019 to encourage Island residents to share their work-life balance in the Isle of Man.
National Work-Life Week is taking place between the 7-11th of October 2019. This national week is an opportunity for both employers and employees to focus on well-being at work and celebrate work-life balance.
Locate Isle of Man is asking residents to share a photo whilst enjoying the benefits of living in the Isle of Man with the hashtag: #LovingIslandLiving. This could be a photo of your morning coffee, the view from your favourite lunch spot, or a snapshot of how you like to unwind after a busy day. Whatever work-life balance means to you, Locate Isle of Man are encouraging you to share how you make the most of your time in our beautiful Island.
In addition to this, Locate Isle of Man will be hosting an ‘Instagram Takeover’ where their stories feed will be taken over by a number of local personalities throughout the week, who will share insight into one of their working days and how they take advantage of the work-life balance afforded to them in the Island.
On Monday, the account will be taken over by Sacha Horsthuis, Co-director at Cycle 360. When she’s not cycling in the hills, Sacha can be found at Cycle 360, running operations and new marketing campaigns or coaching a wattbike class.
Have you ever wanted a backstage pass to the longest established brewery in the Isle of Man? On Tuesday you will have insight into the working life of Kevin Holmes, Head Brewer at Okell’s Isle of Man. The Okell’s team recently won Gold in the Cask – Class 1 category at the International Brewing and Cider Awards 2019 for their Okell’s MPA.
Wednesday’s content will be brought to you by Jessica Kitchin, Manager at Business Connex and Rebecca George, CEO at the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce who will be sharing updates from their working day at the Eagle Lab, a space specifically designed and around the needs of local entrepreneurs, businesses and communities and tailored to suit the Island’s strengths in high tech digital, creative digital and innovation.
On Thursday, you will be taken through a day in the life of George Blackwell, Project Co-Ordinator at Isle Listen, a new initiative working to revolutionise the approach to mental health and wellbeing for young people in the Isle of Man. Earlier this year, George raised £13,965 for Men’s Health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) by completing a series of physical challenges throughout 2018/19
The week will end with world-renowned cyclist, Peter Kennaugh MBE, ex-British champion and Olympic gold medallist who will show his typical work-day in the Isle of Man.
